Founded by Franz M. Herzog in 1987, Vocalforum Graz belongs to the most renowned chamber choirs of Austria. Specializing in sacred and secular literature from the Early Baroque, as well as the interpretation of contemporary music, the ensemble has given numerous world and Austrian premieres, including the world premiere of Ivan Eröd’s Third Symphony “Øresund,” given jointly with the “recreation-Grosses Orchester Graz” (Michael Hofstetter, cond.). Vocalforum has won prizes and accolades at various international choir competitions and produced a series of CDs. Tours have brought the choir to the United States, South Africa, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, Germany, and Slovenia. Sabrina Lackner, and Christian Rehrl serve as section leaders.
